Get started with music
Music WorX is Europe's first publicly funded incubator for startups in the music & tech sector. We offer effective startup support for founders in the music industry
Get started with music
Digital technologies have become an integral part of music production and consumption. At this interface between music and tech, we promote your business ideas with financial support, experienced mentors and coaches, and individually tailored trainings and workshops. An ideal development space where you determine the pace and direction yourself. By the way: Your ideas belong to you. You do not transfer any company shares to us after Music WorX. Apply until June 19, 2023.
The Incubation Programme
Music WorX is an early stage programme which means that you already have an idea, perhaps you have already developed a first prototype, but you are not yet ready for the market - because that is exactly where we want to take you. Over the course of three months, the focus of Music WorX is entirely on your product. An integral part of the programme is Product Field. This method helps you to get to the heart of your product, align the perspectives of all stakeholders, find your focus, tell the right story around your idea and make the right decisions. You can expect:
- Financial support
- Exchange with experienced mentors
- Individually tailored coaching
- Trainings and workshops in a collaborative atmosphere with other teams
- Visibility: Participation and pitch opportunity at the Reeperbahn Festival Conference 2023

FAQ
Who can apply?
The programme is aimed at founders in the early stage from all over Europe with a business idea at the interface between music and tech.
Do we receive financial support?
Yes, each team receives up to €5,000 for support services to further develop the business idea. In addition, each team receives a total of €1,500 per month as a living allowance for the duration of the program.
What do we have to consider when applying?
In the application form, we ask for the most important information about your business idea and your team. If you have any questions about the application, please contact .
Do we need to have the company set up already?
You may apply even before the official foundation. If you have already officially founded and registered the company that's fine as well.
Are there any criteria on who should be on the team?
Ideally, at least 2 people per team should participate in the program. We are especially looking forward to applications from diverse teams of founders.
At what stage should our team be?
Ideally, you are still in the early stage, i.e. you are about to start up or have just started up but are not yet ready for the market - because that is exactly where we want to take you. If you have already completed an accelerator programme, the incubator is probably no longer what you need.
Do you take shares in our start-up?
No. You keep your own idea! After the incubator, you can start your project or transfer it back to your company. We are a publicly funded incubator. That's why we do not take shares in your company.
Do we have to stay in Hamburg to participate?
The program will take place partly remotely and partly in presence in Hamburg. We plan to kick off the program in August on site in Hamburg. In the following weeks, we will also meet for further workshops in Hamburg in order to strengthen the network in the incubator and to use synergies. However, teams from all over Europe can participate.
What happens after the application?
After the application deadline on June 19, 2023, a jury of experts will select the most promising business ideas and invite the selected teams to a digital prepitch on July 4, 2023. Here, the jury will decide which 4 teams will participate in the incubator. We will then inform the participating teams as of July 6, 2023.
